About the facility 
Barwon Health's medical imaging department (Barwon Medical Imaging (BMI)) provides a comprehensive range of diagnostic services including X-Ray, OPG, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy, Angiography, Mammography, and Nuclear Medicine. These are performed by a team of highly skilled radiologists, radiographers, sonographers, nuclear medicine technologists, nurses and support staff who ensure that all patients have access to quality services.  With 4 imaging sites across Geelong and Colac - we support both hospital and community patients on their Healthcare journey.

 

About the role

As a Medical Imaging Patient Administration Assistant  you will provide confidential administrative support to the Barwon Medical Imaging team - this may be at our primary site at University Hospital Geelong or at one of our community sites.

Duties of your role include, but not limited to:

  • Assist clinicians and patients in the scheduling of appointments (either in person or via our busy bookings hub)
  • Meet and greet patients, relatives, visitors on arrival - ensuring all patient details are correct prior to imaging
  • Ensure all billing of procedures are validated, updated, transferred and correct; to ensure that patients are billed correctly and within Medicare guidelines (following training)
  • Process, maintain, update and check requests and patient correspondence by registration and data entry in Barwon Health Patient Management systems (RIS, using Synapse, and IPIMS) - training provided
  • Being the first point of contact for our Service, you enjoy helping others, have a warm and professional manner that will support both our team and patients on a day-to-day basis
