About the role

The role of Otolarynology Head and Neck Surgeon is to deliver high quality and appropriate care to both inpatients and outpatients of Barwon Health, University Hospital Geelong with Ear, Nose & Throat (Head & Neck) conditions.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality inpatient and outpatient ENT surgical care for public and private patients, ensuring safe, effective and efficient clinical practice.
  • Deliver patient-centred care with compassion, dignity and respect, ensuring patients and families are well informed to support shared decision-making.
  • Provide specialist consultation and collaboration with other hospital departments, medical staff and community practitioners to support integrated patient care.
  • Participate in the ENT Surgical Unit after-hours roster and contribute to the ongoing development of clinical practice standards.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical documentation and communicate treatment plans clearly with nursing and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Contribute to clinical governance, safety and quality improvement, including audits, incident reporting and outcome reviews.
  • Support teaching, supervision and research, including participation in medical education, clinical meetings and relevant ENT research activities

 

What we’re looking for

  • Basic medical degree, registrable with the Medical Practitioners Board of Victoria
  • Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRACS)
