  • Work for Barwon Health, delivering care across the Barwon South West region
  • Shape the GGQ Local, a service built on positivity, hope and inclusion
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team delivering integrated, recovery-oriented care

About the role

The GGQ Mental Health and Wellbeing Local supports adults and older adults in Greater Geelong and the Borough of Queenscliffe. It is delivered by a consortium of equal partners: Barwon Health, Wathaurong Aboriginal Cooperative, Wellways Australia and ermha365. The service is built on positivity, hope and inclusion. Whether people reach out online, through the contact centre or in person, every first conversation begins with the same question: "Welcome, how can we help?" Drawing on established services, networks and pathways, the Local connects local, area and wellbeing services, guided by three core elements: people, purpose and place.

Employed by Barwon Health, the Operations Manager will lead, develop and oversee the daily operations and future growth of the Local. You'll provide strategic and professional leadership to a multidisciplinary team, drive the ongoing development of the service model, and work alongside consortium partners, MHDAS leadership and the Local Service Governance Group. Your goal will be integrated, holistic and recovery-oriented care that improves outcomes for consumers, carers and the wider community.

Key Responsibilities

  • You're a collaborative leader with a strong understanding of the mental health landscape and a passion for using data, feedback and evaluation to improve outcomes for people and communities. You build strong partnerships, communicate with clarity and value the voices of consumers and carers in service design and improvement.
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (or equivalent industry experience) and at least three years' experience in the mental health sector across public, private, NGO and primary care settings
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills, with demonstrated experience building empowering partnerships with communities and a broad range of services
