About the role

The Operations Lead Pharmacist, Cancer Services is responsible for overseeing the delivery of a high-quality cancer pharmacy service across Barwon Health. This role focuses on the operational management of the cancer pharmacy department, including all aspects of aseptic compounding, cleanroom compliance and workforce leadership.

Working closely with the Clinical Lead Pharmacist and Associate Director of Pharmacy, Cancer Services, you will ensure safe, efficient and sustainable service delivery while supporting staff development, medication safety and continuous improvement across cancer services.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the cancer aseptic preparation unit, ensuring safe and accurate preparation of anti-cancer therapies and compliance with compounding standards
  • Provide operational leadership, including rostering, staff supervision, workforce planning and support for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians within Cancer Services
  • Support financial and medication governance, including PBS claims, medication access programs, stock management and service sustainability initiatives
  • Drive education, training, quality improvement and accreditation activities to maintain best practice standards across cancer pharmacy services

 

What we’re looking for

  • Registered Pharmacist with AHPRA and an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Pharmacy
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in hospital and clinical pharmacy, including at least 3 years in cancer services
  • Strong knowledge of cancer treatments, aseptic compounding, cleanroom operations and medication safety standards
  • Proven leadership, communication and team management skills with a commitment to education, quality improvement and patient-centred care
