About the role
This role will provide high quality Occupational Therapy care to patients and families of the Subacute at Home Program across both GEM and Rehab at Home interdisciplinary teams. The role will provide clinical leadership within the Subacute at Home Program and a high level consultation on professional issues within the organisation to ensure the promotion of Allied Health professional values and high standards of Occupational Therapy service provision. Additional parameters of this position include the following: consultative role, leadership in clinical specialty of GEM and Rehab Occupational Therapy, teaching undergraduates and/or post-graduate students and providing education to staff within the department and from other disciplines.
Key responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership within the Subacute at Home Program.
- Support and develop the Subacute at Home Occupational Therapy team to work to full scope of practice through clinical guidance, education, and fostering evidence-based practice.
- Practice in accordance with National Safety and Quality Standards, contributing to continuous improvement, research, and safe care delivery.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team to support staff performance, professional development, and high-quality patient outcomes.
What we’re looking for
- Degree in Occupational Therapy from an Australian Occupational Therapist Council accredited course
- Current national registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and other health service providers, conflict resolution, influencing others, and facilitating open discussions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build effective working relationships and influence outcomes
- Strong organisational, prioritisation and time management skills
