About the facility 

Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong’s CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region. Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac.

 

About the Role

In this role, you will deliver high-quality care to patients, clients, and residents while providing professional leadership within the Acute Medicine specialty, the Occupational Therapy Service, and Barwon Health.

Your responsibilities will include offering high-level consultation on professional issues to promote Occupational Therapy values and maintain high standards of service. The position may involve consultative roles, teaching and training in Acute medicine (including assessment/treatment of stroke and neurological patient cohort), supervising Grade 2/Grade 1 Occupational Therapists and undergraduate students, and providing education to multidisciplinary staff across the organization.

 

You will collaborate closely with peer Grade 3 Occupational Therapy Acute clinical leads, the Occupational Therapy leadership team, and the broader multidisciplinary team. Your role will be crucial in clinical service delivery, involving patient assessment and determining appropriate care pathways.

This position requires working on Mondays and Tuesdays, with a commitment to one weekend shift every four weeks.
