About the Role

Are you a graduating Occupational Therapist looking to kick-start your career in a supportive environment with opportunities to explore a broad range of clinical areas?

Barwon Health is seeking applications from graduating Grade 1 Occupational Therapists to join our clinical rotational program. This is an exciting opportunity to build your skills, gain experience across diverse clinical settings and develop your career as an Occupational Therapist.

Our rotational program offers 12 rotations across:

  • Acute services
  • Inpatient rehabilitation
  • Community Rehabilitation (CRC)
  • Community Health (CHC)
  • Child and Family Services

You’ll have the opportunity to experience a range of clinical specialties including orthopaedics, surgical, medicine, neurological rehabilitation, Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM), trauma and paediatrics.

Some bed-based rotations include weekend and public holiday rosters, with additional financial rewards through pay and leave entitlements for weekend work.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, person-centred Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention
  • Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to support consumer goals and outcomes
  • Develop your clinical skills and knowledge across a range of clinical settings and specialties
  • Participate in clinical supervision, professional development and reflective practice
  • Contribute to quality improvement, research and service development activities

 

What we’re looking for

  • A recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy and current or eligible registration with AHPRA
  • An enthusiastic graduate Occupational Therapist committed to developing your clinical skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to work independently while seeking appropriate support and supervision
  • Commitment to professional development, reflective practice and evidence-based practice
