About the role
The Immunisation NUM is a key role responsible for the co-ordination of the Barwon Health Immunisation Service. The role provides leadership and management of the service to the community. The Immunisation team works closely with the BSW PHU to support public health strategies and oversees the development, review and implementation of operational policies and procedures incorporating evidence-based practice. You will work within the guidelines as set out by the National Health and Medical Research Council and Guidelines and actively participate and support activities, which promote safe, effective and integrated services.
The role will be located at a primary location but may move to other Barwon Health locations depending on service delivery needs. The position will operate according to relevant legislation, Barwon Health policies, program and department guidelines.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of a high-quality, evidence-based Immunisation Service, ensuring safe, person-centred care and compliance with relevant standards, legislation and best practice guidelines.
- Provide leadership, coaching and operational coordination of the Immunisation team, including workforce planning, staff development, performance management and clinical support.
- Drive continuous quality improvement, service development and change initiatives through audit, evaluation, education and evidence-based practice.
- Monitor service performance, resources, budgets and reporting requirements to ensure efficient, sustainable and effective service delivery aligned with Barwon Health objectives.
What we’re looking for
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) through AHPRA, with Immunisation Accreditation for Victoria and current CPR/Immunisation Emergencies certification.
- Demonstrated clinical expertise in immunisation practice, including sound knowledge of NHMRC immunisation standards, relevant legislation and best-practice guidelines.
- Proven leadership and team management experience, with the ability to lead, motivate and support staff while coordinating service delivery and operational priorities.
- Strong communication, organisational and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work flexibly in a dynamic environment and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
