About the role 

The Nurse Unit Manager at Blakiston Lodge provides clinical and operational leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care within a complex aged mental health and dementia facility. Working in partnership with the Facility Manager and multidisciplinary teams, this role leads day-to-day operations, workforce management, and service improvement across the unit. 

 

Key responsibilities

  • Provide clinical and operational leadership to ensure safe, high-quality resident care
  • Oversee workforce planning, staffing, recruitment, and leave management
  • Monitor clinical, operational, and quality performance in collaboration with the Facility Manager
  • Lead and support staff development, education, and performance management
  • Drive quality improvement, safety, and compliance with aged care standards and policies

 

What we’re looking for

  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration and relevant clinical leadership experience
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing complex clinical or aged care services
  • Knowledge of aged care legislation, clinical governance, and quality frameworks
  • Ability to lead teams, manage change, and build a positive workplace culture
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
