About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Unit Manager with a strong commitment to excellence within the medical imaging nursing field to lead our dynamic team of medical imaging nurses. In this role, you will provide leadership in the planning and delivery of high quality, safe, and consumer focused care to patients undergoing a range of diagnostic and interventional imaging procedures in the medical imaging department. You will develop and maintain a professional, and collaborative culture within the nursing medical imaging team, building and maintain partnerships with key internal stakeholders such as the operations manager, director of medical imaging, radiologists, and interventional radiologists, as well as other external key stakeholders within Barwon Health and the broader health professional community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and support within the nursing unit
- Coordinate safe, timely service delivery through effective stakeholder collaboration
- Oversee daily operations including staffing, rosters, leave, and supervision
- Monitor clinical, financial, and quality performance to meet operational standards
- Lead recruitment, training, and mandatory education to support workforce capability
- Promote consumer-centred care aligned with Barwon Health values and standards
- Ensure accurate documentation, incident management, and compliance with governance requirements
What we’re looking for
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with a background in leadership in acute care, perioperative, or medical imaging
- Proven ability to lead strategic and daily issues
- Proven ability to manage change
- Significant level of nursing skills and is easily identified as a role model of clinical competence
- Demonstrated ability in the development of cohesive teams and sound knowledge of team functioning
- Proven commitment to flexibility and innovation in practice including an evidence-based approach to care
- Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Outlook (or other e-mail system), Word, Excel and Internet skills to enable quality communication
