Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong’s CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region. Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac.

 

About the role

An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably endorsed Nephrology Nurse Practitioner to work within the Renal Services team at Barwon Health.

 

As the Nurse Practitioner, Renal Services, your role is to provide advanced and extended care for patients undergoing kidney replacement therapy and supportive care.

 

This advanced Nursing role involves:

  • Providing clinical advice to staff and support for dialysis patients across our affiliated satellite units and home dialysis program.
  • Participating in out-patient clinics for dialysis and 'supportive care' patients
  • Assisting the CKD Coordinator in the management of the Renal Care Clinic.

This is a part-time position contracted to 48hr/ftn, working alongside our existing Nephrology Nurse Practitioner.

Candidates should be currently endorsed preferably with experience in caring for people with CKD stage 5 and 5d.
