Barwon Medical Imaging (BMI) is the leading provider of imaging services in the Geelong and South West region - providing a fully comprehensive range of diagnostic imaging and nuclear medicine services to the Geelong and South West Region of Victoria . We specialise in the application of medical imaging in both diagnosis and treatment to improve outcomes for all.
University Geelong Hospital employs 22 Radiologists and 16 RANZCR accredited Registrars – including advanced trainee positions. UHG is currently the major clinical training facility for the Deakin University Medical School. Barwon Medical Imaging has a strong commitment to teaching and research. We use our resources efficiently and productively to optimise service delivery.
BMI provides medical imaging services across four sites, and support Acute Service delivery 24/7 at University Hospital Geelong.
BMI’s Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT Department at UHG offers a diverse range of procedures and studies within a private and public setting, operating two GE SPECT/CT's (670 Discovery and 879DR) . The PET/CT facility is a custom built department that is serviced by SIEMENS mCT system. The Department also has a fully equipped radiopharmacy laboratory which undertakes reconstitution of radiopharmaceuticals, dispensing of patient doses and all relevant quality control mechanisms. Further studies such as blood labels and other cold laboratory duties are also undertaken.
About the Role
BMI are now seeking a suitably qualified Radiology Trainee to join our dynamic team, to undertake a 12 month (Year 1) of a Nuclear Medicine Advanced Training Position. Please note the Nuclear Medicine Advanced Trainee Position is a 2 year Program as dictated by JSAC requirements. This is a 12 month position which will commence in February 2026.
This position provides a recently qualified Radiology candidate with advanced training in all aspects of Nuclear Medicine and PET to fulfil RANZCR and JSAC requirements to meet Year 1 requirements.
The successful applicants will also assist in general reporting and participate in the roster for after-hours, on-call and recall by the unit.
