About the role 

As a Mental Health Clinician within the Aged Psychiatry Service, you will provide recovery-oriented care to consumers aged 65+ accessing Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol Services (MHDAS). Working within a multidisciplinary community team, you will deliver high-quality psychiatric case management services that support consumers, carers and families to achieve improved wellbeing, independence and quality of life.

The role focuses on person-centred, evidence-informed practice, supporting older people experiencing mental health challenges within community settings across the Barwon region.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric case management, assessment, care planning and recovery-focused interventions for older adult consumers within community settings.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support consumers, carers and families through coordinated, person-centred care and effective service navigation.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation, risk assessment and care coordination in line with legislative, professional and organisational standards.

 

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated clinician who is committed to delivering high-quality mental health care to older people within a community-based setting. You will bring strong interpersonal skills, sound clinical judgement and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment.

  • Relevant qualification and current registration in Nursing
  • Demonstrated experience in mental health assessment, case management and recovery-oriented practice, ideally within aged psychiatry or community mental health services.
