About the role
Join the Community Mental Health Team in Surf Coast and make a meaningful difference to people experiencing serious mental illness. As a Mental Health Clinician, you will provide comprehensive assessment, treatment and recovery-focused interventions to consumers and their families, supporting positive outcomes and wellbeing.
Working within a multidisciplinary and recovery-oriented environment, you will deliver high-quality, consumer-centred care that is inclusive of families and carers, timely and coordinated in accordance with the Victorian Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022.
Depending on service needs, your role may include intake, direct clinical management, community development and liaison, duty and risk assessments, and general clinical assessment. You will work closely with the broader team to support safe, effective and responsive mental health care across the Surf Coast community.
Key Responsibilities
- Development of a comprehensive recovery and treatment plan with the consumer
- Outreach activities
- Consumer and carer education, support and follow-up
- Assessment of consumers' medical, psychosocial and current service needs
- Development, implementation and evaluation of Treatment & Care Plans
- Advocacy
- Referrals and assistance with linkage to medical, NDIA, mental health, substance use services and psychosocial services as needed
What we’re looking for
- Formal professionally recognised qualifications in Psychiatric Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social work or Psychology
- Current Victorian Driver Licence
- A demonstrated high level of clinical skills in the assessment, treatment and continuing care of adults with mental health disorders in a community setting
- Thorough knowledge of the objectives and provisions of the Mental Health Act 2022 and amendments
- Willingness to work a 7-day rotating roster, including evenings and weekends (where applicable)
