About the role

As a Barwon Health Intern you will deliver supervised, high-quality clinical care to admitted and ambulatory patients while meeting the requirements for general registration with the Medical Board of Australia.

You will rotate through a diverse range of clinical units, gaining broad exposure in a dynamic regional health service where your contribution is valued and visible.

Our structured Medical Education and Training Program supports your transition from student to doctor, with a strong emphasis on:

• Practical clinical skills
• Safe, supported decision-making
• Wellbeing
• Professional development and career planning
• Alignment with the National Framework for Prevocational Medical Training Program

Key responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective, and patient-centred clinical care under supervision
• Assess, manage, and document patient care across a range of clinical settings
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Engage in education and training

What we’re looking for

• Medical graduates eligible for provisional registration with the Medical Board of Australia
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to patient-centred care and continuous learning
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment
• Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and accountability
