About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced Occupational Therapist to join Barwon Health as Manager Occupational Therapy.
In this senior leadership role, you will provide operational and professional leadership to Occupational Therapy services across Barwon Health. You will oversee a large and diverse workforce, driving service excellence, workforce development, clinical governance, quality improvement and innovation initiatives.
The role entails operational leadership for over 40FTE across The University Hospital Geelong and McKellar Centre. while also providing professional leadership to Occupational Therapists working across primary care, mental health, community and home based programs through strong collaboration with team leaders and program managers.
You will also oversee the Occupational Therapy student education program, support research and professional development activities, and contribute as a key member of the Allied Health leadership team through involvement in strategic planning, organisational committees and service improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Provide strategic, professional and operational leadership for Occupational Therapy services across Barwon Health
- Lead clinical governance, quality improvement and service development initiatives to ensure safe, contemporary and evidence-based care
- Manage workforce planning, staff development, performance management and succession planning within the Occupational Therapy service
- Oversee financial and resource management, service planning and stakeholder engagement to support organisational objectives
What we’re looking for
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy with current AHPRA registration and eligibility for membership with Occupational Therapy Australia
- Extensive clinical and leadership experience within a large and complex health service environment
- Strong understanding of clinical governance, workforce management, quality improvement and strategic service development
- Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to drive innovation and positive change within multidisciplinary teams
About the facility
Barwon Health Occupational Therapy Services provide leadership and excellence in clinical practice, education, research and service development across acute, subacute, community, ambulatory and mental health settings. Occupational Therapists work collaboratively to support patients to maximise independence, safety and participation in daily living activities.
Services are delivered across University Hospital Geelong, McKellar Centre, community programs, ambulatory care and mental health services, supporting a broad and diverse patient population.
