  • Broaden your leadership experience in a fast-paced, supportive acute team
  • Make a real impact for consumers, families and carers across our region
  • Part time temporary opportunity until 30/06/2027

About the role

Our Acute Intervention Services (AIS) are often the first point of contact for people experiencing mental health distress in our community. Mental health phone triage is at the heart of this. It connects consumers, families and carers with timely, responsive care, and it ensures seamless transitions into and out of acute community treatment. Our services are grounded in recovery-oriented practice and are committed to high-quality, innovative and evidence-based care.

In this senior leadership role, you'll lead the phone triage service and help shape the model of care for acute community treatment across MHDAS. Working closely with the Program Manager, AIS, you'll oversee clinical workflow, operations and budget. You'll build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, and you'll use data to drive service improvement. This is an opportunity to make a real impact for a passionate leader who brings vision and energy to a fast-paced acute environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a skilled multidisciplinary team, fostering a positive, engaged and accountable culture
  • Shape and embed the acute community model of care, ensuring recovery-oriented, evidence-based service delivery
  • Drive quality, safety and continuous improvement through data analysis, KPI reporting and effective budget management

What We Are Looking For

You're an experienced mental health leader with a strong background in acute community settings and a proven ability to lead teams through complexity and change. You're confident with data, skilled at negotiating outcomes, and committed to putting consumers and their families at the centre of care.

  • Professional qualifications and registration in a relevant health discipline, such as nursing, occupational therapy, social work or clinical psychology
  • Significant clinical and leadership experience in acute mental health, ideally in community settings
  • Current Victorian driver's licence
