About the role
Are you interested in clerical or administrative tasks, along with an interest in the digital environment? An exciting position opportunity has opened to join our well recognised Health Information Services Department based at The University Hospital Geelong.
Health Information Services manages the health records of Barwon Health within a digital environment as well as managing historical records, release of information requests, data integrity and health record forms management. The role includes covering leave across several Health Record Clerk positions and providing assistance with the scanning process.
In order to shine in this role, you will need to have strong IT skills, a positive 'can do' attitude, proven ability to manage priorities and have experience in service delivery and health record and relevant legislation knowledge would be an advantage
Key Responsibilities
- Scan and manage patient documentation within the Digital Medical Record in line with Health Records Management procedures and required timelines.
- Retrieve, track, and manage health records including requesting files from offsite storage, sorting returned records, and providing records to authorised staff and departments.
- Provide administrative support including answering phone calls, sorting incoming mail, and monitoring shared email inboxes and internal requests.
- Maintain accurate and confidential information management in accordance with privacy, confidentiality, and release of information policies.
- Support quality, safety, and compliance requirements including incident reporting, information security, OHS procedures, and adherence to organisational policies.
- Contribute to team operations and continuous improvement by completing training, supporting projects, and assisting with additional duties as required
What we’re looking for
- Strong computer and IT skills with the ability to accurately manage digital information systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, including a professional and courteous telephone manner.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to follow processes and maintain accuracy.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage competing demands in a busy environment
