- Clinics are Monday afternoon (both for immediate start and a second position for Jan 2027) and Friday Am (start Jan 2027)
About the Role
We are seeking to employ a General Practitioner to work as a consultant alongside Paediatricians, registrars and allied health in our multidisciplinary general paediatric clinics (0-18 years, BRANCHS), based at the Early Parenting Centre, McKellar.
- You’ll be part of a large paediatric team supported by an engaged consultant group with responsibility for a 24 bed inpatient ward and 13 bed Level 5 Nursery managing inborn deliveries from 31 weeks gestation, as well as direct involvement in management of 1-3 intensive care paediatric patients in a mixed adult-paediatric ICU service
- This position is part of a new commitment to invest in the provision of general paediatric outpatient services to the Barwon region
- They will complement existing outpatient clinics based at University Hospital Geelong and community child health clinics based at Barwon North
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality outpatient care in a general paediatric clinic, working within a multidisciplinary team under appropriate supervision
- Provide safe, evidence-based, patient- and family-centred care, supporting informed decision-making and chronic disease management
- Contribute to clinical quality and safety through adherence to standards, policies, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support a positive team culture through collaboration, communication, and participation in meetings and shared clinical responsibilities
- Maintain professional standards through ongoing development, accurate documentation, and compliance with information governance requirements
What we’re looking for
- Medical degree, eligible for registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Fellowship
- FRACGP or equivalent
- Possess a genuine interest in paediatric outpatient care
