About the facility 

Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong’s CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region. Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac.

 

 

About the role

The Victorian Government has committed more than $500 million to deliver new and expanded women’s and children’s facilities in Geelong.  The new Barwon Women’s and Children’s will provide more women’s (including maternity) and children’s health facilities to ensure families in Geelong and surrounding communities can continue to access the very best care, close to home.

Operated by Barwon Health, the Barwon Women's and Children's will be built within the University Hospital Geelong precinct and will provide a new children’s inpatient unit, new neonatal and parent care unit, specialist clinics and more operating theatres.

The Barwon Women’s and Children’s is the largest investment in health infrastructure in the Geelong region – ever.

 

We are seeking a Project FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment) Manager to be responsible for overseeing the procurement, delivery, commissioning and handover activities associated with FF&E. Working closely with the Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA), Consultants, Suppliers and Contractors, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful integration of furniture, fixtures and equipment into this landmark project. 

 

In This Role You Will
•    Schedule and attend project meetings, providing oversight on deliverables and outcomes.

•    Manage the review and endorsement of specifications and tender documents.
•    Participate in tender evaluations and tender recommendations.
•    Directly procure select FF&E items via Health Share Victoria (HSV).
•    Comply with relevant Barwon Health policies, procedures and processes.
•    Administer contracts; including purchase orders, variations and payments.
•    Manage the procurement of FF&E against the approved budget.
•    Review shop drawings, prototypes and samples with internal stakeholders.
•    Support the development and execution of a Logistics Plan.
•    Directly oversee biomedical procurement activities conducted by Barwon Health.
•    Co-ordinate and participate in witness testing, asset tagging and training.
•    Manage the auditing of transfer FF&E and development of a Transfer Strategy.
•    Participate in operational commissioning activities.
•    Ensure all initiatives are managed in accordance with existing governance frameworks.

 

What We Are Looking For
•    Qualifications in a related discipline (e.g. biomedical, nursing, project management)

•    Experience in similar role procuring, delivering and commissioning FF&E in a healthcare setting.
•    Technical skills, including the ability to read architectural and services documentation.
•    Strong knowledge of contemporary healthcare systems as they relate to FF&E.
•    Awareness of clinical products with the ability to research and evaluate them.
•    Excellent interpersonal, stakeholder management and presentation skills.
•    Good communication skills, with the ability to relate to people across the organisation and understand user requirements.
