About the role
The role of the Freedom of Information Review Officer is to review health records requested under the Freedom of Information Act, for applicable exemptions, including undertaking thrid party consultaion as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Review of medical records requested through FOI in accordance within relevant policies and legislation/acts
- Ensure all work is marked with redactions as required for any exemptions or exceptions that may apply
- Ensure work is completed within the timeframes set under the FOI Act
- Draft any correspondence as needed including decision letters or consultations
What we’re looking for
- Strong knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Vic), including statutory processes, exemptions, and OVIC requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise across clinical and non-clinical stakeholders
- Highly organised with strong time management, prioritisation, and problem-solving skills in a busy environment
- High attention to detail with strong analytical ability, supported by sound IT skills (Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat)
