About the facility
Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong’s CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region. Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac.
Barwon Health's Food Services department prepares, distributes, and serves up to 2,500 meals daily across University Hospital Geelong and the Grace McKellar Centre, ensuring high-quality, safe, and customer-focused nutrition for patients, visitors, and staff.
About the role
As a Food Service Attendant, you will play a key role in supporting the retail department by ensuring high-quality food service in a fast-paced environment. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Working collaboratively within a team while adhering to food safety and service standards.
- Providing a professional first point of contact for all department enquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Preparing drinks, serving food, and performing general cafeteria duties.
- Ensuring all tasks are completed accurately, on time, and in accordance with Barwon Health policies and procedures.
- Assisting the Food Service Manager/Operations Coordinator with the ongoing availability and mandatory training of staff within Barwon Health Environmental Services.
