About the role
Join Barwon Health's Food Services team and play an important role in delivering nutritious meals and excellent customer service to patients, visitors and staff. Working across University Hospital Geelong and the McKellar Centre, you'll thrive in a fast-paced, team-focused environment, supporting meal production, distribution and café services while maintaining the highest food safety standards. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality food services by preparing, plating and distributing meals, ensuring dietary requirements, allergies and food safety standards are consistently met
- Provide exceptional customer service across patient meal delivery and café operations, including food and beverage preparation, point-of-sale transactions and maintaining a welcoming environment
- Maintain food safety and operational standards through cleaning, stock rotation, documentation and compliance with Barwon Health's Food Safety Plan and organisational policies
- Support a safe and collaborative workplace by adhering to occupational health and safety, information management and confidentiality requirements while working flexibly across a range of shifts and sites
What we’re looking for
- Food Handling Certificate II or III in Hospitality, Food Services or a related field highly regarded
- Previous experience in food services, with healthcare or aged care experience desirable
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to provide excellent customer service and interact respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds
- Reliable and adaptable, with the physical capability to perform the role and the ability to work effectively within established procedures under routine supervision
