About the facility

Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong’s CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region. Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac.

 

About the Role

Join our Environmental Services Senior Leadership team as Environmental Services Manager (HS6), reporting to the Director, Environmental Services with 8 direct reports.

You'll oversee critical non-clinical services across all Barwon Health sites including Mail Services, Mortuary Services, Linen Services, Cleaning, Ward Support, Accommodation, Ancillary Services, Waste Management and Pest Control.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Environmental Services team across multiple sites.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and contractor relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with NSQHS Standards, safety, and accreditation requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement and service excellence.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams, People & Culture, Finance, and external stakeholders.
  • Respond to emergency situations with technical expertise and leadership

 

About You

We're seeking a positive, motivational leader with strong focus on continuous improvement and service excellence.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification (Degree preferred) in Hospitality, Business Management or Administration.
  • Food Safety Supervisors Certificate.

Essential Experience:

  • Leadership role in healthcare or hospitality sector.
  • Managing unionised workforce and change management processes.
  • Multi-disciplinary team management including cleaning/housekeeping in hospital or healthcare environment.
  • Knowledge of Victorian NSQHS Standards.
  • Strategic planning and critical business project delivery.
  • Strong financial literacy across multiple service line budgets.
  • Infection Prevention and Control in healthcare settings.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and computer skills.
