About the facility
Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong’s CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region. Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac.

Patient Services Assistant
The Patient Services Assistant (PSA) is responsible for ensuring a high standard of support services across the ward/ departments. The PSA is an integral member of the hospital team, assisting and supporting the multiple clinical and medical teams across the Barwon Health portfolio. The role can include
- Linen Services
- Cleaning and Housekeeping,
- Transport and Couriering
- Ward Support
- Code response
- Patient Support
Food Service Assistant
The service delivery of meals and beverages to patients, customer’s, visitors and Staff. Provide exceptional customer service in a professional and efficient manner whilst working in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary environment and adhering to Barwon Health’s Food Safety Plan.
Food Monitor
The Meal Monitor is responsible for facilitating and organising the process of patient meal selections from a menu cycle, ready for the tray line operation.
Store Person
The Store person reports to the Food service Stores Supervisor and the primary objectives of this role are to ensure accurate, timely receipt of stocked and non-stocked lines to the Barwon Health food service stores department based at UHG, put away of stocked items away in the appropriate location within the department and distribution of stocked items to their required deliver to location and picking and delivery of internally requisitioned orders and Imprest process generated stock movements efficiently, providing solid customer service to the organisation. They will liaise with the ward clerks, ANUM’s/ NUM’s and other Barwon health staff to determine appropriate Imprest items and PAR levels by area, and be responsible for checking and restocking these areas.
Second Cook
The Second Cook is responsible for preparation and cooking of meal to Patients –Residents- Retail outlets – In-house and external Functions whilst adhering to Food Safety and Allergen Controls
