About the role
An exciting opportunity exists for an Enrolled Nurse to join the Specialist Dementia Care Program within Barwon Health’s Aged Care division. In this role, you will work collaboratively with Registered Nurses and the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, compassionate and person-centred care to residents living with dementia.
As an Enrolled Nurse, you will play an important role in supporting residents’ wellbeing, dignity and quality of life while contributing to a positive and supportive team environment. This position offers the opportunity to work in a highly regarded regional health service committed to excellence in care, professional development and continuous improvement.
Blakiston Lodge is a 90-bed, high level, residential aged care mental health facility. Our Specialist Dementia Support Program is run from Blakiston Lodge, supporting those with severe behavioural and psychological dementia symptoms. The aim is provide specialist care for patients, in hopes to rehabilitate into mainstream aged care facilities.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high quality, evidence-based nursing care in accordance with Enrolled Nurse Level 2 scope of practice and Barwon Health standards
- Work collaboratively with Registered Nurses and the multidisciplinary team to develop, implement and evaluate resident care plans
- Promote a safe, respectful and culturally appropriate environment for residents, families and carers
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and participate in quality improvement, education and compliance activities
What we’re looking for
- Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse with AHPRA and a recognised nursing qualification
- Understanding of Aged Care Standards and commitment to person-centred care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team
- A motivated and compassionate approach with a willingness to learn, adapt and undertake shift work as required
