About the role

This Transition to Practice Program is designed for recently graduated Endorsed Enrolled Nurses (EEN) or EEN’s with limited clinical experience seeking a supportive pathway into the workforce. Over six months, you will develop your clinical skills and confidence within an aged care setting, supported by experienced clinicians. The program includes supernumerary time and dedicated education days to facilitate your professional growth and safe transition to independent practice.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, person-centred nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
  • Participate in structured education sessions and clinical learning opportunities
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team across a 7-day rotating roster
  • Apply clinical knowledge and skills in aged care while building professional competence

About Aged Care Transition to Practice Location.

During the 6-month supported program you will be working either in Alan David Lodge or Wallace Lodge with a rotation through Blakiston Lodge with additional orientation study day

 

Alan David Lodge in Charlemont

Alan David Lodge is located on the Surf coast Highway just a short drive from both the Geelong CBD and coastal surroundings. This 108-bed facility service offers both residential care and transition care beds, with 74 residential high level care beds and 34 transitional care beds. The facility features spacious design, modern decor, a contemporary colour scheme with natural lighting and connection to external courtyards and the unique community garden precinct. Lead by exceptional senior staff who prioritise holistic patient care and the continued education and development of their staff.

 

Wallace Lodge in North Geelong

Wallace Lodge is a modern 108-bed facility featuring spacious design, modern decor, a contemporary colour scheme with natural lighting and connection to the external courtyards. The beautiful garden settings enhance emotional wellbeing and offer a sense of tranquillity.

 

Blakiston Lodge in North Geelong

Blakiston Lodge is a modern 90-bed facility featuring spacious secure design, modern decor, a contemporary colour scheme with natural lighting and connection to the external courtyards. The beautiful garden settings enhance emotional wellbeing and offer a sense of tranquillity. Blakiston Lodge is dedicated to caring for people with dementia and mental illness and offers a safe and secure environment, quality nursing, and medical and psychiatric support for residents.

 

What should your application include:

  • A concise CV (no more than 3 pages) which includes a short statement about your career goal including any relevant skills/attributes or values that you believe make you an ideal candidate for the role.
  • List current/past employment details.
  • List professional development completed during Enrolled Nurse training eg; short courses, in-services
  • List all clinical placements including service name, clinical area, type of placement and dates of placement in table format.
  • Logbooks x 2 from acute/sub-acute Enrolled Nurse clinical placements, please upload these on peoples plus
  • Logbooks should include front cover, formative, summative and all pages completed by the clinical facilitator/supervisor of the placement
