About the role
The Emergency Management Lead provides an important role as subject matter expert in support of Barwon Health’s capability for preparedness and continuity of operations during emergencies and crises. The role leads the development, implementation, and maintenance of comprehensive emergency preparedness strategies, exercises and training to ensure organisational resilience and ability to respond effectively to various scenarios. It also manages the external security contract for the provision of security services at UHG
Key responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and provide strategic direction for business continuity and emergency management across the organisation, including governance and stakeholder coaching.
- Develop, implement, and maintain emergency management systems, tools, and training to ensure timely and effective organisational responses to non-clinical emergencies.
- Conduct exercises, training, and evaluations to enhance staff readiness, test business continuity and emergency plans, and drive continuous improvement.
- Oversee organisational risk assessments and business impact analyses, maintain risk profiles, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure coordinated, resilient responses.
What we’re looking for
- Extensive experience in business continuity, emergency management, or related fields, preferably within healthcare.
- Proven ability to lead teams, engage stakeholders, and deliver results in high-pressure environments.
- Experience designing, delivering, and coordinating emergency management and business continuity training programs.
- Strong problem-solving, prioritisation, and continuous improvement skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
