About the facility 

Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong’s CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region. Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac.

 

About the role

To act as a high-functioning team member of the Department of Nutrition & Dietetics, and to provide evidence based nutrition and dietetic services to patients, clients and customers of Barwon Health. 

Be a proactive voice for Nutrition & Dietetics and to contribute to, and be part of, relevant ward-based multidisciplinary teams, in order to support consumers and carers to achieve an optimum level of health independence via:

  • Provision of comprehensive, co-ordinated and integrated multidisciplinary services.
  • Provision of consumer–centred care.
  • Contribution to the development and delivery of high quality, cost-effective dietetics services.
  • Contribution to meeting relevant performance measures (KPI’s).

All activities of the position will reflect current best-practice guidelines and professional standards for Nutrition & Dietetics.  The position will operate according to relevant legislation, Barwon Health policies, program and departmental guidelines. The position will primarily be located at University Hospital Geelong and/or the McKellar Centre but may include roles at other Barwon Health locations depending on service delivery need, including, but not limited to, Barwon Health Community Health Centres. The position will require flexibility in availability to support service delivery initiatives, may include some weekend work, and may involve staff rotation with other Grade 2 positions across sites.
