About the role
Barwon Health is seeking a flexible, organised, and friendly Dietitian Assistant to join our Nutrition & Dietetics team. This casual role involves supporting patients with their menu selections, assisting the Food Services Department, and helping deliver high-quality, evidence-based nutrition services across multiple sites.
You will work closely with dietitians, ward staff, and food service teams to ensure patients receive appropriate and enjoyable meals, while contributing to administrative and reporting tasks as required. Casual role (4 or 8 hours shifts) either at The McKellar Centre or the University Hospital Geelong, plus back-filling leave of other Dietitian Assistants at both sites.
Key responsibilities
- Distribute, explain, and collect patient food choices from a selective menu
- Enter patient food selections into the CBORD food services system and generate related reports
- Liaise with Dietitians regarding patient dietary requirements and support care planning
- Assist with administrative, clerical, and ordering duties related to nutritional products
- Participate in weekend and public holiday nutrition services, and provide leave cover at both UHG and McKellar Centre

- Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
- Competency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new systems
