About the facility

Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong’s CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region. Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac. 

Our team at University Hospital Geelong consists of over 20 Dietitians and 7 Dietitian Assistants. We provide dietetic services to inpatients and outpatients across all clinical specialties according to current best practice and professional standards. Our staff are expected to pursue clinical excellence, consumer-centred care, and interdisciplinary teamwork. Additionally, the Nutrition and Dietetics Department provides clinical placements for dietetics students, co-ordinated by our Student Placement Co-ordinator and has a strong relationship with Food Services via our Food Service Dietitian.

 

About the role

We are seeking an experienced paediatric dietitian to be part of the multidisciplinary, hospital in the home, eating disorder service. Applicants should have significant clinical experience in paeiric eating disorders, a passion for clinical excellence, and strong organisational and communication skills and an ability to build and drive teams.  This role will also require experience in delivering projects and service development. This role will work alongside the other Grade 3 acute clinicians, and will require the successful candidate to act as a mentor and supervisor to junior clinical staff. All activities of the position will reflect current best-practice and professional standards for Nutrition & Dietetics. The position will operate according to relevant legislation, Barwon Health policies, program and departmental guidelines. The role will also require flexibility in availability to support service delivery initiatives. 
  
This role will primarily be located at University Hospital Geelong but will include roles at other Barwon Health locations depending on service delivery need, including, but not limited to, The McKellar Centre and Barwon Health Community Health Centres. The role will also require flexibility in availability to support service delivery initiatives, including a service on weekends and some public holidays.
