  • Join an internationally recognised leader in public mental health care.
  • Be part of a brand-new Youth Prevention and Recovery Care (YPARC) service.
  • Support youth recovery through nutrition, wellbeing and physical health.

About the role

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Grade 3 Dietitian to join Barwon Health's newly established Youth Prevention and Recovery Care (YPARC) service. This innovative 10-bed residential program provides recovery-oriented, trauma-informed mental health support for young people aged 16–25 years as an alternative to hospital admission or as a supported transition from inpatient care back into the community.

YPARC delivers care within a 24/7 supported, home-like environment focused on functional recovery, independence, wellbeing and meaningful community connection. Bringing together clinical, psychosocial rehabilitation and lived experience approaches, the service supports young people to build confidence, strengthen daily living skills and achieve their personal recovery goals.

As a senior member of the multidisciplinary therapeutic team, the Dietitian provides specialist nutrition assessment, therapeutic meal-based interventions, education and physical health optimisation. Working collaboratively with nursing, psychosocial rehabilitation workers, peer workers, community case managers and external providers, the Dietitian contributes to comprehensive assessment, recovery planning, service development and workforce capability building.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver advanced nutrition assessment, therapeutic interventions and education to support physical health, wellbeing and recovery outcomes.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary assessment, recovery planning, risk review processes and care coordination for young people accessing YPARC.
  • Provide discipline-specific leadership through secondary consultation, service development and capacity building across the YPARC workforce.
