About the role
We’re seeking motivated and experienced Dental Receptionists and Dental Assistants who thrive in a team environment and are passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
As a Dental Receptionist, you'll be the friendly first point of contact - overseeing appointment scheduling, processing payments, responding to patient enquiries and ensuring a seamless delivery of quality and cost-effective dental care to eligible patients. As a Dental Assistant, you will prepare treatment rooms, assist chairside during procedures, reprocess instruments, maintain infection control standards, and support oral health promotion. Working across multiple Barwon Health dental clinics, you’ll be part of an inter-disciplinary team dedicated to improving oral health and community wellbeing.
Key responsibilities
- Certificate III in Dental Assisting
- Services delivered are effective, efficient, coordinated and client focussed
- Ensure patient flow by ensuring efficient patient scheduling and time management
- AIDET – Acknowledge/Introduce/Duration/Explanation/Thankyou
- Certificate IV – Oral Health Promotion & Radiography
- Provision of an advanced level of clinical care that is of a quality consistent with Barwon Health clinical standards and policies (inclusive of Infection Prevention and OH&S Policies and Procedures)
- Maintain patient records in accordance with Barwon Health Clinical Record Standards
- Work collaboratively within the dental team, including supporting rural rotations, providing professional assistance to colleagues, and mentoring less experienced staff.
- Contribute to service improvement and safety, actively participating in quality activities, performance areas, incident reporting, and OH&S improvement initiatives.
What we’re looking for
- Formally recognized tertiary qualifications in Dental Assisting e.g. Certificate III in Dental Assisting
- Minimum 1 year of working experince as a Dental Assistant / Receptionist
- Current Victorian Drivers Licence
