About the role

Barwon Health MHDAS is a progressive and high-performing service delivering responsive, evidence-based mental health care across acute and community settings.

Join our Emergency Mental Health (EMH) service, providing rapid, high-quality assessment and intervention for consumers presenting in crisis.

Working across the Emergency Department and broader MHAOD Hub, you will play a critical role in ensuring timely access to care and safe clinical decision-making in high-pressure environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide urgent psychiatric assessment and risk management
  • Support emergency department and crisis response pathways
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary and external partners (including PACER)

 

What We Are Looking For

You are a decisive and resilient Consultant Psychiatrist who:

  • Holds Fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists
  • Has experience in acute or emergency mental health settings
  • Thrives in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
