About the role

This role provides medical leadership within the Barwon Health Eating Disorder Day Program (EDDP) a new, group-based treatment program supporting people requiring intensive, structured care.

 

The EDDP delivers a holistic, recovery-oriented model, incorporating:

 

  • Group-based therapeutic interventions
  • Individual clinical support
  • Supervised meals and nutritional care
  • Family and carer involvement

 

As the Adult Physician, you will play a key role in:

 

  • Assessing suitability for program participation
  • Contributing to treatment planning and goal setting
  • Supporting GP management of consumers
  • Participating in group programs and multidisciplinary reviews
  • Liaising with inpatient units and broader medical teams

 

You will work within a dedicated multidisciplinary team, including psychiatry, paediatrics, dietetics, allied health, and lived experience practitioners, contributing to a collaborative and integrated model of care.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical and medical leadership across the EDDP
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary care planning and delivery
  • Support safe, high-quality, recovery-oriented clinical practice
  • Participate in service development and continuous improvement activities
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support integrated care

 

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a clinician with a strong interest in eating disorders and multidisciplinary care, who is motivated to contribute to an emerging, innovative day program model.

 

You will bring:

 

  • Clinical experience or a demonstrated interest in the assessment and management of eating disorders
  • A collaborative approach to working within multidisciplinary teams
  • A commitment to recovery-oriented, consumer and family-centred care
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP)
  • Eligibility for, or current accreditation as, an RACP supervisor
  • Current registration with AHPRA (General or Specialist)
