About the role
Working as part of a team based model within the Centre for Education and Training Residential Aged Care Portfolio, the Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible for developing, facilitating training programs and education resources for the Residential Aged Care units. This role will work in collaboration with the other Clinical Nurse Educators and Clinical Support roles within the Residential Aged Care education portfolio which is part of a wider interprofessional education team.
Key responsibilities
- Identify learning needs and develop, deliver, and evaluate evidence-based education and training programs that align with organisational priorities, regulatory requirements, and NSQHS Standards using contemporary adult learning principles.
- Build strong partnerships with multidisciplinary teams, academic institutions, and external stakeholders to support interprofessional learning, coordinate specialised education, and promote a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.
- Ensure education programs comply with safety, quality, and accreditation standards, utilise evaluation and quality improvement methodologies, contribute to research and scholarship, and maintain accurate reporting and governance of education activities.
- Maintain accurate education records, uphold privacy and information management standards, ensure compliance with organisational policies and OHS requirements, and actively participate in professional development and organisational improvement initiatives.
What we’re looking for
- Relevant health profession qualification with current AHPRA registration (or eligibility for professional association membership for self-regulated professions), and postgraduate qualification in a relevant specialty area where required.
- Demonstrated clinical excellence with substantial experience and consolidation in practice, supported by a strong commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
- Knowledge of education theory and pedagogical principles, with demonstrated ability to apply these in practice, alongside leadership capability and the ability to lead or contribute to change initiatives.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating strong organisational skills and effective use of information technology systems.
