About the role

Working as a member of the CET team, Educators contribute to a coordinated and interprofessional approach to education that aligns with organisational priorities, fosters a culture of continuous improvement, and ensures clinical practice remains evidence based, safe and person-centred. 
The Educator plays a critical role in enhancing workforce capability by planning, developing, delivering, and evaluating education and training for Barwon Health’s clinical workforce. This position supports the provision of safe, high-quality, evidence-based care by promoting clinical excellence, professional development, and lifelong learning. The role supports the career development of health professionals and contributes to a culture that values learning and strives for best practice

 

 

Key responsibilities 

  • Design, develop, deliver, and evaluate high-quality education and training programs for healthcare staff, ensuring alignment with evidence-based practice, NSQHS standards, and organisational requirements.
  • Conduct learning needs analyses using multiple data sources to identify skill and knowledge gaps and inform targeted, competency-based education solutions.
  • Foster interprofessional learning and collaboration by working closely with clinical teams, internal stakeholders, and external partners to support a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Ensure education activities are safely and effectively delivered in compliance with safety, quality, information management, and OHS standards, including accurate documentation and reporting.

 

What we’re looking for 

  • Current professional qualification with active AHPRA registration (or eligibility for professional association membership), with postgraduate qualification in a relevant specialty where required.
  • Demonstrated clinical excellence with strong consolidation of practice experience, supported by effective communication, interpersonal, and leadership capabilities.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively, lead change, and apply high-level organisational and problem-solving skills in complex clinical environments.
  • Strong understanding of education principles and commitment to ongoing professional development, reflective practice, and compliance with Barwon Health EEO and OH&S policies.
