About the Role
The Clinical Nurse Consultant (RPN5) provides advanced specialist clinical consultancy, leadership and nursing practice development within Barwon Health's inpatient mental health services. Working closely with the Nurse Unit Manager, Nurse Educators and multidisciplinary teams, you will support the delivery of contemporary, recovery-oriented and trauma-informed care for consumers with complex mental health needs.
This role is ideal for an experienced mental health nurse looking to influence clinical practice beyond direct care. You will play a key role in workforce capability development, quality improvement, clinical governance and the implementation of evidence-based models of care that improve consumer outcomes and strengthen inpatient mental health services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert clinical consultancy and support for complex and high-acuity mental health presentations.
- Lead nursing practice development through mentoring, coaching and workforce capability initiatives.
- Drive quality improvement, clinical governance and service development activities across inpatient services.
What We Are Looking For
- Registered Psychiatric Nurse with extensive inpatient mental health experience and advanced clinical expertise.
- Demonstrated ability to influence practice, support staff development and lead service improvement initiatives.
- Strong commitment to recovery-oriented, trauma-informed care and improving consumer outcomes.
