About the role
The Clinical Nurse Consultant – Women’s Clinics will be responsible for the triaging and coordination of referrals and appointments for the Women’s Clinics, the CNC will provide nursing care within these specialist clinics. The Clinical Nurse Consultant will facilitate the coordination of the Multidisciplinary clinic meetings associated with relevant Women’s Health Clinics. You will work collaboratively with the gynaecology team to ensure the appropriate review and follow-up of women going through the Women’s Clinics. Including coordinating and assisting with face-to-face reviews and liaising with women and the wider multidisciplinary team in developing care plans.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based patient care in accordance with professional nursing standards and Barwon Health policies, ensuring care is culturally appropriate and supports the broader health and wellbeing of patients.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and external stakeholders to coordinate services, maintain effective communication, and achieve the best possible patient outcomes.
- Promote safety, quality, and compliance by supporting continuous improvement initiatives, applying National Safety and Quality Standards, and ensuring accurate clinical documentation and information management.
- Support governance, policy development, and workplace safety, including leading the review and redevelopment of Women’s Clinic policies and procedures and ensuring compliance with organisational and OHS requirements.
What we’re looking for
- Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with a minimum of three years’ clinical experience, preferably within women’s health.
- Experience in gynaecological and/or sexual health nursing, with advanced knowledge and skills in women’s health or relevant postgraduate qualifications (or working towards).
- Strong communication, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with a demonstrated commitment to patient and family-centred care.
- Excellent organisational, critical thinking and decision-making skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and patient management systems (e.g. iPM, BOSNET, BOS Outcomes).
