About the role
This is a newly established leadership role providing oversight, coordination and advanced clinical pharmacy support for both inpatient and outpatient cancer services.
The Clinical Lead Pharmacist will play a key role in managing increasing clinical demand, ensuring safe and effective medication practices, supporting workforce development and optimising service delivery. Working closely with the Operations Lead Pharmacist, Cancer Services, this role supports the delivery of an exceptional, sustainable and patient-centred oncology pharmacy service.
Key Responsibilities
Provision and oversight of a cancer clinical pharmacy service

Supervise and participate in the provision of specialist pharmaceutical care to oncology and haematology patients

Develop and optimise clinical pharmacy services across all treatment settings

Participate in ward rounds, multidisciplinary meetings and service planning forum
Education and training

Mentor, support and develop pharmacists within the cancer pharmacy service

Facilitate education and training of interns, students and pharmacy technicians

Develop and coordinate credentialing and re-credentialing pathways (e.g. ClinCAT, MiniCEX)
Management and leadership

Provide day-to-day supervision of Grade 2 Pharmacists undertaking clinical duties

Review new and amended CHARM pathways for clinical accuracy

Act as a trusted resource for Andrew Love Cancer Centre staff, providing expert pharmaceutical, therapeutic and financial advice
General
- Contribute to the overall management of the Pharmacy Department as a member of the senior leadership team
What we’re looking for
- Pharmacy degree with current AHPRA registration
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in hospital and clinical pharmacy, including oncology services
- Demonstrated expertise in oncology and haematology pharmacy practice
- Strong leadership, supervision and mentoring capability
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to medication safety, quality improvement and evidence-based practice
