- The Centre for Education and Training has a temporary part-time (48 hours per fortnight)(Parental Leave Relief) Clinical Facilitator position available in the Undergraduate Nursing Program
About the role
The Clinical Facilitator role requires you to work with enrolled and registered nursing students, preceptors and ward staff to create an environment that supports, promotes and enhances the learning experience.
Nursing students undertake clinical placements in a variety of clinical settings at Barwon Health with support and guidance from the Clinical Facilitation team.
You will work closely with the Clinical Placement Coordinator and Education Provider's to enhance relationships, and the models of clinical placement offered whilst also enhancing relationships with the wider Education and Training team.
You will possess highly developed interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to assess, plan, implement strategies and evaluate individual student learning needs. You will demonstrate leadership qualities, have consolidated experience in a clinical area and a commitment to education.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate and support student clinical placements by facilitating orientation, clarifying expectations, and ensuring learning objectives are met.
- Facilitate student learning and assessment through mentoring, constructive feedback, critical reflection, and completion of clinical assessment tools.
- Liaise with education providers and key stakeholders by providing progress reports, escalating underperformance, and reporting clinical incidents appropriately.
- Promote professional standards, safety, and quality compliance by supporting preceptors, maintaining documentation requirements, and ensuring adherence to NSQHS, OHS, and regulatory guidelines.
What we’re looking for
- Registered Nurse with AHPRA (Nursing and Midwifery Board registration)
- Demonstrated clinical excellence with recent, consolidated clinical experience
- Experience supporting and developing students/new learners, with knowledge of adult learning principles and competency-based assessment
- Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills with high organisational ability and teamwork
