About the facility
Barwon Health’s Cancer Services is a comprehensive, integrated service providing world class cancer care for adults in Geelong and South West Victoria.
The Andrew Love Cancer Centre (ALCC) has state of the art facilities, equipment and highly skilled professional providing personalised and patient-centred cancer care. The radiotherapy service is one of four public radiotherapy service providers in Victoria and offers state-of-the-art treatments using Varian Truebeam linear accelerators, Eclipse treatment planning system, and Aria record and verify system. Services delivered by the department includes:
- Stereotactic treatments
- IMRT and VMAT
- 4DCT and gated treatments
- IGRT – planar kV, CBCT, and EPI
- Knowledge based planning
- Flattening Filter Free Beams
- Superficial X ray treatments
The radiotherapy department is currently undergoing development in several areas of clinical service delivery and offers a challenging and rewarding experience.
About the role
As the Chief Medical Physicist, you will provide professional and scientific leadership and lead a team of dynamic and highly skilled Radiation Oncology Medical Physcists within ALCC. This role will require you to assist in service planning and develop frameworks to further the development of the service. You will have the ability to communicate and engage with a wide range of specialists and senior management within the hospital. The position may include other duties and responsibilities as determined from time to time and at the discretion of the Head of Unit.
