About the role 

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Clinical Research Nurse/Coordinator to join our Cardiology Research Unit. In this role, you will be responsible for the coordination and delivery of clinical trials, working closely with patients, clinicians, sponsors and multidisciplinary teams to ensure studies are conducted safely, ethically and in accordance with regulatory requirements.

You will play a key role in identifying and recruiting suitable participants, coordinating study visits, collecting and managing clinical data, and monitoring participants throughout their trial journey. Your focus on delivering exceptional patient care and maintaining the highest standards of research quality will contribute to advancing innovative cardiovascular treatments and improving patient outcomes.

 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Coordinate the day-to-day delivery of cardiology clinical trials, including participant screening, recruitment, scheduling, study visits, data collection and accurate documentation in study databases
  • Monitor participant safety and trial progress, ensuring all clinical trial activities are conducted in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), ICH Guidelines, study protocols and applicable regulatory requirements, including timely adverse event reporting
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, clinicians, study sponsors and internal and external stakeholders to ensure clear communication and successful trial delivery
  • Act as a clinical trial resource within the Cardiology Research Unit by maintaining expert knowledge of study protocols, providing regular study updates, and supporting the coordination of allocated clinical trials while ensuring compliance with the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards and National Clinical Trials Governance Framework

 

What we’re looking for 

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1)
  • Excellent organisational, communication and time management skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to adapt to new systems and processes
  • Acute clinical experience, ideally in cardiovascular care. Postgraduate qualifications and/or previous clinical research experience will be highly regarded
