About the role

The Grade 3 Cardiac Sonographer: possesses high levels of specialist knowledge as a Cardiac Sonographer.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Deliver specialised diagnostic cardiology services in line with clinical guidelines, credentialing and best-practice standards
  • Independently perform high-quality cardiac ultrasound and diagnostic investigations, ensuring accurate reporting for cardiologist review
  • Operate specialised cardiology equipment and clinical information systems safely and effectively
  • Provide patient-centred care, maintaining dignity, privacy and respect at all times
  • Participate in roster requirements including outreach support, on-call and reasonable overtime as required
  • Support and mentor junior staff and students, contributing to education and continuous quality improvement

 

What we’re looking for

  • Successfully completed a Degree or Postgraduate qualification in Sonography recognised by the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR) and is eligible for admission to the Register of Accredited Medical Sonographers by the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry
  • or not completed a Degree or Postgraduate qualification in Sonography recognised by the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR), but has been admitted to the Register of Accredited Medical Sonographers by the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry
  • Normally have at least 7 years’ experience in the relevant profession
  • Possesses specific knowledge in and works in an area of their profession recognising as requiring high levels of specialist knowledge
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching and/or research in clinical area
