About the role 

As a Biomedical Engineer / Technical Officer, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of a broad range of therapeutic, diagnostic, and life-support medical equipment. Working closely with clinical teams, you will help ensure medical devices are safe, reliable, and operating effectively to support the delivery of high-quality patient care. 

  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of biomedical equipment, ensuring timely resolution of equipment issues and effective coordination with clinical staff, contractors, and vendors.
  • Deliver a comprehensive preventative maintenance program, including equipment inspections, testing, servicing, and accurate maintenance record management.
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturer recommendations, Australian Standards, and organisational policies through equipment safety testing, acceptance testing, quality assurance activities, and technical support to hospital staff.
  • Maintain accurate equipment and documentation records while adhering to information management, workplace health and safety, and regulatory requirements to support a safe and efficient healthcare environment.

 

What we’re looking for

  • Relevant Degree or Diploma in Biomedical, Electronic or Electrical Engineering, with experience in biomedical engineering or technical support.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of biomedical equipment used in healthcare settings and the ability to apply biomedical and electronic engineering principles.
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with equipment management systems; life sciences training is desirable.
