About the facility
Operating Services at Barwon Health consists of 16 Operating Theatres and one endoscopy suite across two points of care; Main Theatre and Youang Surgery Centre. At Barwon Health we operate on an average of 25,000 procedures per year and across a vast array of surgical specialities; Cardiothoracic, Cardiology, ENT, General Surgery, Gastroenterology, Gynaecology & Obstetrics, Oral Faciomaxillary, Opthalmology, Orthopaedic, Vascular, Urology and Plastics.
Operating 24/7 with on call provisions, our Main Theatre suite provides high quality of care in a fast-paced environment for elective and emergency surgery management.

About the role
You will be an experienced perioperative nurse with advanced Orthopaedic knowledge. This role involves the coordination of a dedicated nursing team and planning for both elective and trauma orthopaedic surgeries.
The key to your success will be your energy, enthusisam and passion for perioperative nursing and your ability to integrate into a busy, dynamic theatre team.
You must be a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
Perioperative nurses with Management and/or Post Graduate qualifications in a relevant area will be highly regarded.
You must have excellent communication skills, be well organised and have good time management skills.
You will demonstrate the ability to:
- Deliver consumer centred care that meets best practice standards and in line with Barwon Health requirements
- Establish and maintain effective communication within a multi-disciplinary team so that patients receive quality ongoing care
- Facilitate service coordination where possibel to ensure broader health and well-being issues are supported
