- Excellent part time permanent role for a passionate medical nurse to step into a leadership position (64 hours a fortnight).
About the role
The successful applicant will take a leadership role in strategic and daily issues with well-developed problem solving abilities and proven ability to support change. Hold a sound level of nursing skills and is easily identified as a role model of clinical competence. Demonstrate clear knowledge of team function and ability to work and support a cohesive team. Have a commitment to flexibility and innovation in practice including an evidence-based approach to care. Demonstrate ongoing commitment to professional development and computer skills in Microsoft Outlook (or other e-mail system), Word, Excel and Internet skills to enable quality communication.
Key responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and oversight to ensure consumer-centred, high-quality care aligned with professional and organisational standards
- Coordinate and manage shift operations to meet patient flow, staffing and service delivery requirements
- Support, mentor and supervise nursing staff, promoting professional development and clinical excellence
- Partner with the Nurse Unit Manager and fellow ANUMs to drive service improvement and support change initiatives
- Ensure compliance with documentation, information management, mandatory training, and workplace health and safety requirements
What we’re looking for
- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
- Demonstrated leadership capability within an acute healthcare setting
- Strong clinical knowledge and ability to act as a role model for best practice care
- Well-developed communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to professional development, flexibility and innovation in practice
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and internet-based systems

Heath Wing 7, a 32 bed General Medical unit specialising in Respiratory Medicine is seeking an Associate Nurse Unit Manager to assist in leading their highly skilled, professional and friendly team. In this role you will be responsible for the provision and oversight of high quality patient care through a multidisciplinary approach.
