Associate Nurse Unit Manager, Gastroenterology/General Medicine

Key responsibilities 

• Provide clinical leadership and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the ward, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality patient care.
• Deliver and promote consumer-centred, evidence-based care in line with professional standards and the values of Barwon Health.
• Support, mentor and develop nursing staff, fostering a collaborative team environment and ensuring completion of mandatory training and professional development.
• Ensure compliance with clinical governance, documentation, and safety standards to maintain high-quality service delivery.

What we’re looking for 

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a postgraduate qualification in the relevant specialty.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in a healthcare setting, with the ability to guide teams and support organisational change.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively within and support a cohesive team.
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development, supported by sound clinical competence and computer literacy.
