About the role
As an Associate Unit Nurse Manager (ANUM), you will provide clinical leadership and management, assisting the Nurse Unit Manager to ensure the operational needs of the ward/unit are met. The ANUM is responsible for clinical and professional role modelling; guiding staff toward the best possible care standards whilst fostering continuous improvement within the ward/unit. Additionally, you will support and encourage the professional development of nursing staff to ensure ongoing growth and excellence in clinical practice.
Key responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the ward, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality patient care.
- Deliver and promote consumer-centred, evidence-based care in line with professional standards and the values of Barwon Health.
- Support, mentor and develop nursing staff, fostering a collaborative team environment and ensuring completion of mandatory training and professional development.
- Ensure compliance with clinical governance, documentation, and safety standards to maintain high-quality service delivery.
What we’re looking for
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a postgraduate qualification in the relevant specialty.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a healthcare setting, with the ability to guide teams and support organisational change.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively within and support a cohesive team.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development, supported by sound clinical competence and computer literacy.
