About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) to join our Emergency Department. This role provides clinical leadership and operational support to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, and patient-centred emergency care. Working closely with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and the multidisciplinary team, the ANUM plays a key role in staff coordination, clinical governance, and service improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and support to nursing and multidisciplinary staff within the Emergency Department
- Coordinate shift management, patient flow, and resource allocation
- Act as a senior clinical decision-maker and escalation point
- Support staff development, coaching, and performance management
- Promote a culture of safety, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies, accreditation, and professional standards
- Contribute to service planning, audits, and quality initiatives
What we're looking for
- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
- Postgraduate qualification in Emergency Nursing
- Demonstrated clinical experience in an Emergency Department
- Proven leadership or acting ANUM experience
- Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and lead teams under pressure
