About the facility
Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong’s CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region. Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac.
The Young Surgery Centre (YSC) provides a range of planned and semi-urgent surgical procedures for predominantly day stay patients and on occasion multi-day stay patients. The patient profile will include adult and paediatric patients that require elective and non-urgent surgical or procedural intervention.
Enabling works for a new ‘Barwon Women’s and Children’s’ which commenced in mid-2024 meaning the Gretta Volum Centre, endoscopy and day procedure unit will relocate to YSC. The establishment of the procedure and endoscopy rooms on Level 1 of YSC is an exciting opportunity to join the leadership team that will work across the existing four theatres and the new procedure and endoscopy rooms.
About the role
University Hospital Geelong has an opportunity for an efficient and motivated Registered Nurse to join the Youang Surgical Centre management team as a Anaesthetics and Recovery ANUM.
Are you ready to take on the challenge of a leadership role? As the Associate Nurse Unit Manager in the Youang Surgical Centre, you will possess excellent clinical, leadership and management skills; actively participate in generating new ideas and committing to continuous improvement. You will be registered with APHRA and be able to demonstrate a significant level of clinical competence, with a proven ability to take a leadership role in strategic and daily issues through your professionalism, relationship building and personal drive.
You will have committed to flexibility and innovation in practice including an evidence-based approach to care and ongoing commitment to research, quality care and customer service.
